For all you Imagine fans out there:
Here's my latest accomplishment: The Sony RMT-V676A - in English, that's the
remote control for my VCR.
What you see here is three days of effort. You'll find the following files
for the object:
SonyRemote - the object
Iff.RemoteMap - the main brush map
Iff.+ -- brush maps for the special keys

SonyRemote.iff This is for those of you who don't have Imagine; I've
included an IFF rendering, in 640X400 format,
so you can at least see what it looks like.
SonyRemote.txt That's this file.
The object is done in a "grouped" format, as I do with all of my objects.
The remote itself is set as two objects - one part has Phong shading on, the
other part has it turned off. This was necessary to make sure curved surfaces
were smooth, and yet the sharp edges stayed that way.
All of the buttons are grouped together to an axis, and each may be
independently moved. Other individual parts include the swing shuttle (and
its collar) and the red IR lens. All parts can be identified by name in
Imagine's Find requestor.
About the only problem I had with this object was concerning the swing
shuttle. When you render it, you'll see the "divot" on the shuttle dial seems
to have a triangular taper down towards it. This is an effect of the phong
shading which I could not get rid of. If anyone knows a solution, please let
me know! It still looks OK, especially if you don't know what the remote
looks like anyway.
I hereby release this object into the public domain. You can do with it what
you may. Please give me credit for it if you use it in any projects... and
please send me the project it's in, so I can see it :>!
